Karma comes from a good intention : to distinguish what is worthy from what is worthless.
However, it appears that karma is often - if not always - abused by people who are partakers in an argument. That is, they don't use karma to give a genuine and indicative opinion, they use karma to debase a legitimate opponent.
Some sites can be plagued by karma wars.
Some people who are always right can be labelled always wrong by opponents, or others users who don't have a sufficient level to understand what was said.
Some users can be deterred from writing quality texts, because they immediately receive an avalanche of neg rep, as soon as they try to raise the level.
Ideally, a user who always writes things that make sense, and who always behaves according to the rules, must be protected by the system, even if the crowd of obnoxious incompetent users is against him.
Give the user in My Tiki the possibility to get out of Karma, i.e. to receive no positive or negative rep points.
Make that a user right in Groups admin too.
